Major update regarding increasing pollution levels in Delhi

Due to the increasing levels of pollution in Delhi and its vicinity areas, government of Delhi has taken a major decision of stopping the entry of Ola Uber and other app based cabs registered in other states to enter in Delhi. Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai has announced the update. AQI is reaching to 500 in Delhi.

Environment minister declared the decision that other state registered App based cabs i.e. OLA and Uber are not allowed to enter in Delhi, which leads that only Delhi registered number app based cabs will move in the capital region.

Winter vacation is announced in schools of Delhi

In light of the rising pollution levels in Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal government has made a significant announcement. Winter break in schools has been declared from November 9th to November 18th. This means that children will now have a 10-day break in November instead of December. These holidays will be adjusted with the regular winter break in December-January. The Delhi government has taken this step to address the pollution situation in the capital and ensure the safety of children.

The Arvind Kejriwal government announced on Wednesday afternoon that due to the ongoing hazardous smog in the city for the past six days, schools in Delhi will remain closed for winter vacation from November 9th to November 18th. The Delhi government has instructed all schools to close immediately and reschedule the usual holidays that fall between December and January.

Dealing with pollution is a matter of action, not politics

In Delhi, the air quality is deteriorating consistently. Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has also expressed concern over the increasing pollution. On Wednesday, he said that the central government, Delhi government, and neighbouring states should collaboratively develop a formula to address the issue of air pollution in the city, without any political implications. Urging immediate action to tackle the problem, he emphasized that it’s a grave concern as it affects the health of the youth. Naidu stressed that the issue of air pollution should be taken seriously, considering Delhi is India’s capital, and it shouldn’t be a matter of politics.

ODD Even policy will come in action after 7 years

Kejriwal Government is ready to implement the odd even policy in Delhi after seven years from 13 November 2023 which is Monday onwards. Increasing pollution in Delhi is becoming a major problem of people and government. AQI level (500+) is at severe level and its become very difficult to breathe in Delhi. State government is taking major steps to control the AQI levels and this odd even policy is one among them. To better understand the odd even policy here are some details :-

ODD number plates car means that cars whose number ends with (1,3,5,7,9) will allowed on dates having last digit of odd number (13,15,17,19……29).

Even number plates car means that cars whose number ends with (0,2,4,6,8) will allowed on dates having last digit of even number ( 14,16,18,20,…..30).
